Collecting and Using Your Personal Data
Types of Data Collected
While using Our Service, We may ask You to provide Us with certain personally identifiable information that can be used to contact or identify You. Personally identifiable information may include, but is not limited to, Usage Data.
Usage Data
Usage Data is collected automatically when using the Service.
Usage Data may include information such as Your Device’s Internet Protocol address (e.g. IP address), browser type, browser version, the pages of our Service that You visit, the time and date of Your visit, the time spent on those pages, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
When You access the Service by or through a mobile device, We may collect certain information automatically, including, but not limited to, the type of mobile device You use, Your mobile device unique ID, the IP address of Your mobile device, Your mobile operating system, the type of mobile Internet browser You use, unique device identifiers and other diagnostic data.
We may also collect information that Your browser sends whenever You visit our Service or when You access the Service by or through a mobile device.
How the App Handles Your Data
This section explains, in plain terms, exactly what the Application sends and to whom.
Files and Notes You Study From
When You create a study set, the text from Your file, photo or note is sent over an encrypted connection to Our server, together with Your study goal, the formats You chose and the difficulty. Our server passes it to OpenAI, which writes Your questions and flashcards. Text in scanned pages and photos is read on Your iPhone first, so the images themselves are not uploaded. We do not save the text of Your files or notes on Our servers.
OpenAI processes this text as Our Service Provider. You can read OpenAI’s privacy policy.
Device Identifier
The first time You use the Application, it creates a random identifier and stores it in Your iPhone’s Keychain. It is not linked to Your name, email address or Apple ID. We use it to apply the free and Premium limits, to prevent abuse and to group events from the same installation.
Usage Events on Our Servers
The Application sends a small number of events to Our own server, for example when a study set is created or fails, when a quiz is completed, when the subscription screen is shown, or when a reminder or link is opened. Each event includes the device identifier, the Application version and technical details such as the formats chosen, the difficulty, the page count, the processing time and the amount of AI processing used. Events never include the text of Your files, notes or study goals.
Analytics (TelemetryDeck)
We use TelemetryDeck to understand how the Application is used, for example how many study sets are created and how many study sessions are finished. TelemetryDeck receives short, anonymous signals with values such as the study mode, a score range or where the subscription screen was opened from. Its user identifier is anonymised (hashed) on Your iPhone before it is sent.
TelemetryDeck does not track You across apps or websites and does not use the advertising identifier. File and note text, study goals, lesson titles, feedback text, email addresses and Our device identifier are never sent to TelemetryDeck.
Learn more in TelemetryDeck’s privacy policy.
Purchases
Quibly Premium is sold and billed by Apple. We never receive Your payment details. We use RevenueCat to check whether You have an active subscription. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and Your purchase history from Apple, and Our server uses the same ID to confirm Premium status.
Learn more in RevenueCat’s privacy policy.
Feedback
If You send feedback from within the Application, We store Your message together with the device identifier, the Application version and whether You have Premium, so We can read it and act on it.
iCloud
Your study sets are stored on Your iPhone. If iCloud is turned on, the Application can also keep a copy in Your private iCloud account so You can restore Your sets after reinstalling. This data is stored by Apple in Your iCloud account and We cannot access it.
Study Reminders
If You turn on study reminders, they are scheduled on Your iPhone. No reminder content is sent to Our servers, apart from an event when You open a reminder.
This Website
This Website is hosted by Cloudflare. When You visit it, Cloudflare processes technical information such as Your IP address and browser type to deliver the pages, protect the Website against abuse and produce aggregated visit statistics. The visit statistics do not use cookies and do not track You across websites. Learn more in Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
